I was just reading some reviews on East Wind. And the Customer Service toward guests does not seem to be that grt, actually they sound pretty bad! So now I am i lil worried. we r seriously considering booking here b/c they r willing to work with us and our small budget, but i do not want my guests to be treated badly. Can ne one give me advice or info? TIA!!!
EDIT: I guess when I go to sit dwn with our BM I will bring this up to him and see what he can do about it, b/c my father and uncle will seriously start an issue if ne thing goes wrong (they r hot head but it works!)

Re: East Wind Reviews...Should I be worried??
A very good friend of mine was married there last fall and I thought the service was fine. I didn't notice that we weren't being taken care of. I don't know if that helps you but it was nice.

Re: East Wind Reviews...Should I be worried??
I googled reviews for East Winds and it wasn't about the wedding planning oe ne thing, it was about the way the ppl who work for the hotel/inn part was treating the guest staying over night after the wedding. I saw it on tripadvisor and a couple of other ones i can't remember right now.

Re: East Wind Reviews...Should I be worried??
I just read the reviews on Trip Advisor about the East Wind and I just had to comment. There was a comment about a couple who had their room reserved by their parents as well as a breakfast the next morning. I had a similar situation at my wedding. Our BM and his wife had claimed bankruptcy and did not have a credit card. We had told them that we would pay for one of the two nights for them. They arrived earlier than we did and originally were going to stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Riverhead. I called and said that I would pay for it. My MOH had put the room on her credit card for them. At check out I went down and paid for the 2nd day. My MOH called me later that night and told me that they charged her for 2 nights when it was supposed to be for one. Reason being - they charge the credit card on file from check in and you sign the bill when you check out. If that person had been given a free night from her parents, they should have given a gift card. When we were checking out and I reminded them that I was paying for the other night for our friends, they tried to pull up their bill, but it had already been closed out (my MOH had signed the bill for 2 nights and didn't notice). They did credit her credit card right away and I paid the remaining night.
As for another person who stated that the front desk is not always staffed, I know they are harder to reach during the week, but on the weekend there is always someone back there. Maybe they are not directly behind the desk at the wee hours of the morning, but they are in the office right behind it.
There was also another comment made about check out time and hosting a breakfast the next morning. The check out time is 11 or 12 AM I believe, which is when all guests must leave by. If you are hosting a breakfast the following morning, let the front desk know at check in that you will need additional time because you are hosting the event. My mom had hosted our breakfast and the East Wind had given us sufficient additional time to check out. DH and I asked for the extra time at check in and my mom had spoken to the Maitre D at the breakfast. Either way works, but it's better to mention it right away.
Hope this helps. They really did a good job at our wedding and we had 35 guest rooms reserved for us and there were no issues except the one mentioned above.

Re: East Wind Reviews...Should I be worried??
Ok, i feel better now. There some more complaints, i wish i rememebred the sites, but i did a google search and didn't really pay attention to the sites i was on. I think another one was yahoo travel. but ne ways, like i said, i am just gonna let my guy over there no about the complaints i saw and ask him to make sure everyone is taken care of the right way. Thats all. And I am almost 100% sure thats where we will be booking.
Thank you!

Re: East Wind Reviews...Should I be worried??
my brother got married at east wind and we stayed the night before. the hotel end was comfortable, nothing too exciting about it, clean, organized and cozy, pretty standard. the room was gorgeous, the spread was not to be believed. I wouldn't go as far as to say the staff was rude or bad, but they tended to be a little short, like the bartender turning his back to you while you're ordering to hurry and mix your drink even if nobody is behind you kinda short. And I have to say that my biggest gripe about the whole thing was that before the actual end of their party, I wanna say it was supposed to be 6, they had staff out clearing the room and re-setting the tables for the next wedding, thus not allowing some of the older guests to sit at the tables as they waited for their rides to say goodnight. my grandmother was damn near forced out of her seat while she waited for my mom and it was about 10 minutes early. there were still 20/30 people in the room and the next bride was coming to in check everything out while the family was struggling to rush and get our things together. That part annoyed me.
They definitely booked the 2nd party too close. And it might have been an off day or a 1 time occurrence for that so don't take it as anything too serious. This was also 3 years ago, I'm sure if a lot of people were having the same experience, hands have changed by now as well, because believe me, that put such a damper on a nice day. But I would definitely ask them if something is going to be before/after you in that room and how close they're booked together. That you do have a right to know about, and that goes for anywhere. Nobody likes leaving their own wedding but to be rushed is even worse.
There, as with many places, tend to have this 'wedding factory' problem where they're all so worried about cramming more parties into the same day that they don't consider the quality of the service they're providing.

Re: East Wind Reviews...Should I be worried??
I attended a wedding at East Wind last summer. I didn't notice any customer service issues.
