East Wind Wedding last night . . . review
Long Island Sound (DJ) ? Excellent! The MC was not too loud or annoying. They tried to get the guests involved as much as possible w/o being intrusive. The volume was actually perfect, it was not too loud; we did not have to scream to hear each other.
Burtons (Florist) ? Flowers were fresh and beautiful! Bride told me initially her bridal bo-k had a problem but Burtons came back and fixed the problem within ten minutes of the complaint.
East Wind ? The room was beautiful, everything was decorated nicely. There was good service at the CH and a good selection of delicious food. I loved the fried calamari, and was not too crazy about the seafood salad (cold), I just did not like the taste.
The appetizer of fresh tomato and mozzarella was delicious, the salmon and rice with veggies was out of this world (I took it home – I was too full to eat more than a bite), the cake was also very good – it had strawberry cream and chocolate cream inside. There were also delicious and very fresh chocolate covered strawberries and pastries.
Holiday Inn Express ? We stayed here in a king suite room that was part of the wedding block. The room was amazing! It had a whole sitting area in a carved out room beside the bed area. It also had a fridge, coffee pot and microwave. Everything was very clean and well kept. I would highly recommend it. They had a shuttle from the hotel to the RH and then back to the hotel at the end of the wedding.
Morning after breakfast at the Westinghouse Room at East Wind ? the food was delicious, this was buffet style but they came around the clear the plates and give coffee throughout the entire breakfast. There was a good assortment of food as well, they had an omelet chef and everyone was raving about how good the omelets were. They also had fresh and delicious fruit, juice, cakes, bagels, pancakes, French toast, hash browns, and corn beef hash. The breakfast was supposed to be over at 11:30am and no-one rushed us, they continued to serve food and make the omelets way into the 1200 hour. They also continued to serve coffee and tea.
Overall. . . It was a great experience. I am putting up pics under the East Wind Wedding album. Enjoy!
