Re: Easy Apple Pie Recipe (crumb top?)
6-8 green apples diced or sliced 1 stick unsalted butter about 2 cups dark or light brown sugar 1/2 cup white sugar couple squirts of carmel syrup a couple dashes cinamon & nutmeg
Cook apples in butter add all ingredients except carmel
if liquid is thick then in a seperate bowl mix 1 1/2 cups cold water with two large table spoons of flower & add to apples....after about 10 minutes if itr still doesnt thicken repeat flower/water mixture. Cook untill thickened and apples start to cook but arent mushy
Shut off and add a couple squirts of carmel sauce (the ice cream toping one) ---OPTIONAL
Topping: 1 1/2 cups flour 3/4 cup granulated sugar 3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed 4 packs of your favorite flavored instant oatmeal ( I use French Toast or maple brown sugar)cup oatmeal 1/2 pound cold unsalted butter, diced
Combine in a bowl and mix with hand mixer, after a while I usually mix with my hands
put apples in store bought pie crust pan fill about half way up
put crumbeled mixture on top (it will look like butter but when it bakes it will be great) I usually put alot
bake on a pie sheet ( it may bubble over a bit) untill top is dark brown but not burned at 350-375 Enjoy!
