Me and DW are looking for a house but trying to do it quick so we don't have to move into an apt temporally until we move in the house... so, that is the premise for today's poll...
I've moved a lot of times... gotta do what you gotta do. Lived with family, friends and now, finally on my own while growing up.

i moved three times in two years.. NOT fun.. West Hempstead to Long Beach to Bethpage back to Long Beach. I have been in LB back for 4 years now....

I did not move one, single time until I was 23, since then, which has been three years, I've moved SIX, yes six, times!

I guess two. My whole childhood until highschool in Boston. College in upstate NY. Grad school in Maryland. If FH and I get a couple of postdocs before we become professors (if we decide to go that route) that could be 2-3 more times. That is what ***** about academia. It is hard to start a life somewhere when postdocs last only 1-2 years and you usually have a couple of those.

I don't remember my first move - from Spain to LI when I was 2 months old.
We then moved from my gma's house to our own house, then to an apartment, before moving into our current co-op.
However, since we've lived here, I've lived with my aunt for 4 years after my uncle passed, and then with a BF for 2 years in 2 different apartments (big mistake).
Hrm, I underestimated how many times! I'm up to 7 - and we're moving to NC this summer into an apartment while we look for our new home. Sheesh!

I lived home till I got married at age 24. I then moved to Nesconset, from Nesconset to Lake Grove, now in process of moving from Lake Grove to E. Northport.

my mom and i moved 4 times (that i can remember hearing about ) before i was 5. then i lived in the same place for 13 years. moved out when i went to away to college. moved around there like 3 times, in the meantime, my parents moved twice, so when i went 'back' it was a different place everytime then i moved to the hamptons the summer after i graduated (though i cant really say i remember much from then ) then back with my parents for a few months in yet another house, then DH and i moved in together, and then we moved last year to a different apartment. so its something like 11ish. d@mn i get tired just thinking about it
BUT eventhough i love where we are... i get bored quickly, so if moving didnt get more expensive each time (as in more CR@P to tug along), i'd start looking again.
