Re: Eating Poop?
I spoke to my dog trainer about this because one of my dogs does the exact same thing and you know what he said. He told me and my FH that it is completely NORMAL. I don't think so, I agree with you and think it to be rather gross. This pills really do work though.

Re: Eating Poop?
Deter...you give it to your dog and it stops them from eating (hopefully) their own poop

Re: Eating Poop?
Petco and most other pet stores carry Deter. Also, ask your vet, they may even carry a line of different brands or can recommend another one to you. I can't guarantee that it will work for your dog, but my dog has stopped for now.....

This didn't work for Chewie but he eventually stopped eating his poops.

Re: Eating Poop?
My MOH's dogs do this they are duschands (sp??)... she found out that the reason they do this is because they do not digest everything the first time and I guess their bodies require what they didn't get so they turn to poop eating because its in there. I think she ended up changing their food and they don't do it anymore.

Re: Eating Poop?
Actually if a dog has eaten any grass it will cause them to throw up. Our dog trainer told us that when a dog eats grass it is because it's stomach is upset and it is making itself throw up. But it could be poop....smell his/her mouth and check their teeth.

Re: Eating Poop?
i wanted to try it but when i called the vet emergency that time she threw up, he told me to try not to resort to using it, that eventually she will grow out of it. but hello she is 10 months old already, i told her she's too much of a big girl to be doing this anymore!

Re: Eating Poop?
How is the throwing up situation, is your dog still throwing up? I'm surprised they said not to get deter, it really is such a great product. Most people really recommend it.
