EBAY Sellers - need advice!

EBAY Sellers - need advice!

i had an auction end on saturday evening. i have not heard anything from the buyer, even after sending an invoice. i want to leave negative feedback - however, i am afraid this person is going to be a jerk and retaliate by leaving me negative feedback. since i am a new seller (only 1 previous transaction), any negative feedback would kill my rating.

should i just let it go? or should i leave negative feedback for the buyer?

also want to add - the winning bid was $1.99 - so we're not talking big bucks here - which is why i think it might be just worth it to let it go.

Re: EBAY Sellers - need advice!

You should have the option to send a second invoice through ebay, do this.

You can also request contact info from ebay and email or call the buyer.

If you don't hear anything, then I believe you file a non-paying bidder report and a request a credit for the listing fees. Then you can relist the item.

Is the buyer new to ebay too? I think you should report them if you don't hear from them - they won't know you reported them and it will teach them the lesson that all bids, even $1.99 bids, are binding. (If they get 3 NPB reports filed against them, they will be banned from ebay).

At this point negative feedback seems premature - there could be a valid reason for not getting in touch with you yet.

I hope it all works out.

I forgot to add - keep copies of all correspondance and attempts to reach this person.

Did you give a pay by check or money order option? They may have put a check in the mail without contacting you.

Re: EBAY Sellers - need advice!

i think they have a certain amount of time to respond to you...and its probably a week or so...

I'm waiting on someone to respond to a sunday auction...

1. feedback is gold
2. if you are new to ebay...then you can just restart...(maybe...I would think so)

I would listen to Christine. She has given you sound advice. Dont bother with Negative feedback. This person may of sent you a money order, but didnt bother to contact you to let you know it is on the way. Believe me this has happen to me many times before. Just give her another week, and if you dont receive any payment from them, goto the Help button, located on the top right of the screen, type in Block when you are asked what you are looking for and then add that persons name into your block list. This way that person cannot see your auctions or bid on anymore of your auctions.

Re: EBAY Sellers - need advice!

Just to let you know this is quite normal.
A few weeks ago I put on 23 items and 3 people are not paying. Since I started selling I think this makes 10 or 12 that haven't paid.

Send a 2nd invoice.
If no response in 3-4 days file a non-pay bidder which means you get your final value fee back (it is not much for $1.99 but it is the point) then also do as Scott said and block them. You will recieve a credit for the fee. Before you recieve the credit though Ebay will mail them with a bit of a threatening email tell them what Christine said 3 NPB and they are out. Good Luck if you need more help feel free to FM me!
