Re: What would you do...Bridal Party (little long)

Honestly - from the brief history you just gave - I probably wouldn't ask him!! I'm rather deal with the SIL attitude about it - them him pulling out or just being generally miserable to everyone about it! JMO...

Re: What would you do...Bridal Party (little long)

i was going to tell you... were doing all family for our bp too... and my BIL sometimes I question whether he would really want to do it(when we visit he'll dissapear so we only see my sister and niece)... However, at family events he will say hi to us, and talk to us and all, and doesnt do the complaining you said...

from what you said i really wouldnt have him be a gm... if anything, to involve him, he can be an usher, and just have a boutineere and help seat people...

I would be a coward and make my FH make this decision alone

From the way you described him; he is not someone I would want in my bridal party. You also mentioned he has said he doesn't even want to be in the party. That would be reason enough for me!!!

ETA: It is YOUR wedding!!! Worry about yourself first and try not to get caught up in what everyone else will think!!! I know, easier said than done!!!

How's your FI feel about this? It's his side of the BP, his BIL.

I think this is kinda his decision. I have a person in my BP i put in their just to be nice, but she's not doing any of the BP stuff, just walking down the aisle. I think that might be something you might want to consider.

Good luck!

Re: What would you do...Bridal Party (little long)

Why don't you privately talk to your FSIL and tell her how you feel, not about everything FBIL does/doesn't do, but just how it relates to your wedding. Let her know that you'd love for them to both be part of your BP, but that he doesn't seem too into it and you wouldn't want to inconvenience him by making him. That way you look like you're looking out for his feelings, even though you may not even give a sh*t. Play it by ear based on her reaction.
