Educator discounts offered?

Hello fellow brides and vendors,

I must say this is getting overwhelming. My FH and I are pretty much paying for everything ourselves and are on a budget. I would really appreciate some reasonable quotes or educator discounts. Our wedding is 7/27/14. I work as a special needs educator. My job and students are an important part of my life. We are looking for the following:

Photographers/photobooth
limos
florists
make-up
hair
day of coordinator

NOTE: We cannot spend $4-5000k plus on photos. It's not going to happen so please don't waste my time or yours. We need to buy a house and just don't have the luxury to spend a lot of money for one day. I truly feel it can still be a memorable and lovely event regardless. Thank you for your time and help!!

Romy

Not sure what you're looking to spend but Lindsey Gallagher from LI makeup artist was absolutely amazing and cheap compared to other makeup artists. Michelle from Hidden Essence was great to work with and my flowers were stunning. Meaghan from Fruition Events was wonderful and willing to work on pricing with different DOC packages. Joe from Camelot limos was absolutely willing to work with you for pricing. I used Patken for photography, but we did pay a significant amount for video/photos. Lastly, I was very happy with my hair person, but I did find her a bit pricey, Jenn the hair genie. FM me for more info and good luck! I'm a special Ed teacher too, so I know it's tight with money lol

Check out Fade to black and Capture the moment for photo/video - both were very reasonable and willing to work in your budget. Fade to black also has a photobooth for crazy cheap if you book a package with him. Most places offered us a military discount (when I asked for it) so definitely throw it out there!

Def shop around bc pricing varies. Since you are on a tight budget, you might want to consider having a small wedding. We got a great deal at Numa's florist in Wantagh. If you are flexible, winter prices are cheaper then the summer or if you choose a Friday night instead of a Saturday. We saved a ton by having our wedding on a Sunday. Good luck!
