eeeks my ring is turning a different color

I have heard of it happening but i didn't think it would be a problem for me but it has. My engagement ring is turning from white gold to like a yellowish color.

Do you get that dipped? Confused because of the fact I only wore it for a year and a half and now i know its going to happen to my wedding band i am not sure what to do.

Suggestions?

Edited part: i have a guarantee from Kay i am bringing it in deff but i want to know from other people's experiences with this if just dipping it is really the answer or i need to exchange it for a new set in a diff metal.

I have heard that white gold may eventually become yellowish...but I think its kind of soon....I have heard that re-dipping is the way to go.

What type of work do you do? Do you use your hands alot with chemicals or other substances??

Someone was just speaking about this the other day. If its white gold it may 'yellow' with time and/or the person's body chemistry who wears it. Some people's turn quicker than others. It has something to do with the rhodium the ring is coated with. A dip at the jewelers and it should be back to picture perfect

This is happening to my e-ring and its not even a year yet. My ring is 18k white gold. We spoke to FH's aunt who we got the ring from and she said it depends on the chemicals in your body. Its only happening on the bottom part. She said its too soon for it too happen, but she is going to re-dip it. I must have some strong chemicals lol

i worked at a bakery nights and weekends for a few months now but really don't wear the ring there too much because of fear of loosing it (bagel/roll bin) I wear gloves maybe its the power in the gloves that did it. Oh well so a dipping is going to happen - if it happens again with in a year (the bakery job is over in a week or two) i am going to just get a new set of rings in a diff. metal.

Re: eeeks my ring is turning a different color

i had HUGE issues with this. My original e-ring turned yellow about every 8 weeks. We eventually had to got to BBB to settle the situation, but they wanted the ENTIRE ring back. We just wanted them to change the gold so we could keep the stones. Well, we had the e-ring and my bands re-set with another jeweler and it is holding up much better. White gold does need to be re-dipped once or twice a year. It only costs about $40 and it will make a HUGE difference once you get it done. It will be nice and bright and sparkly :)
With the first setting I was getting it done every 8-12 weeks!
