Hey ladies, FH and i just got back from meeting with Elegancia. We met with Jose and he's really helpful. He knows his music, They took us into this room and showed us a party they did and all the different lighting we can choose. They also do like a band thing. Think of it as a half DJ, half band. It's a great idea.
Elegancia starts at $975, but no lighting and DJ only. The next has lighting, MC and Dj for &1125...something like that.
I highly recommend you check them out.
We are going to meet with starlight express and bravura. Does anyone have price ranges for them?

Re: Elegancia
brauva started at aprox $2995 for 2007 wedding and that was with basic light cant really get without, and that was only for reception nothing added on yet, by the time we had cocktail hr. added on it was almost $5,000! But i think they have different pricing for everyone, BIL used them and just got married a few months back and got a lot better pricing then we were offered.. go figure

Re: Elegancia
Met with all three of the ones you mentioned. We were looking for a more comprehensive package (DJ, MC, Intelligent Lights, Gobo, Percussionist) and they were pretty much all the same price (or within hundreds of each other) when we met with them end of 2006.
Bravura has raised their prices for '07 because they did some upgrade of their light system. Had a not so great experience with them (went back on their word, raised prices at our followup etc), so we didn't book them although I'd seen them at a wedding and they did a good job. But I don't do business with shady people.
We found Elegancia to be too inflexible although they are said to throw a GREAT party. They didn't budge an inch on pricing so we went elsewhere.
Didn't have a great meeting with Starlight - it was kinda a blah meeting so we didn't book them.
We went with another company and ended up getting WAYYY more for less than what these three companies were offering.

Good to know. Well I actually bargained with ELegancia and they were flexible.

Re: Elegancia
I agree on the Bravura comments. They changed the prices on me a couple times because they were trying to decide which couple would pay more b/c they both wanted the same day. I think they are over priced. I went to a wedding later that booked them and was so unimpressed. In the end, they did me a favor.

Just to clarify my post above, Elegancia did bring down their price in our followup meeting.... by asking us to remove components (like plasmas, giveaways, type of lighting, etc etc). Other than that, once we got to the package that we felt we couldn't remove anything else from, he reiterated the price and we tried to negotiate and Jose just told us that they 'have their expenses'... so that was that.
If they did negotiate with you (not like how he 'negotiated' with us, but the real way), then that's great! We were ready to book in right then, but we didn't feel like they were giving an inch. I'm sure they'll do an awesome job at your wedding!
