Hi-- I know a lot of you have used Elena for you hair/make-up , I have a trial set up in August, Can anyone share their experiences with her?

I used her in Sept 2000, Actually I think I may have been one of the first people to RAVE about her on this board. She is absolutely worth the money. I took polaroids of my hair and makeup, so I could remember what I looked like. I didn`t have a firm idea of what I wanted for my hair, so I went back a second time (at no charge) and spent two hours with her until we got it right. The makeup was perfect, I will never look that good again! She did my mom as well, and although my mom looked great, we ended up getting behind schedule. So I highly recommend that you be selfish and have her do only you, so she has as much time as she needs and you are not rushed. We ended up running so far behind schedule, that we never got to do pictures before the ceremony like we had planned & missed the cocktail hour. So, if you use her, or anyone else for that matter, keep her to yourself! ;)

Thanks so much ! I have only heard great things about her! I cant wait to meet her -- My wedding is in October-- and I am getting very nervous!

Don`t be nervous. All the stress in for nothing. As long as you keep the lines of communication open, you`re fine. Trust me on this. The day after the wedding, my husband and I felt like we could have planned the whole thing over again. The day after it will seem so easy and you`ll wondered why you stressed at all. My advice: Make a list of MUST HAVE pictures, even if you want mostly candid/photojournalistic. Inevitably, you will end up without certain pictures that you will wish you had (there are no pictures of just me and my mom alone! I was so upset). Even better assign someone who is not in the bridal party to coordinate and make sure the photographer is taking pics of all the vip’s. Don`t spend money on things that aren`t important, for example: I spent $25 on ivory Victoria Secrets stockings and quite frankly, no nonsense would have been fine! (No one will know) Don`t let the little things overwhelm you. I stressed myself so much I had a mini breakdown five months before the wedding and cried my eyes shut (I am not kidding). The next day, I threw out all my bridal magazines, took a vacation from the chat board and re-focused. I had been so concerned about all the things I was supposed to be doing, that I was loosing sight of what I WANTED. I ended up doing exactly what I wanted, regardless of what . If you don’t want to do something that’s tradition don’t do it. We didn’t do most of the traditional things and a lot or people commented on how refreshing and original our wedding was. Do what you want to do and most importantly ENJOY YOURSELF! When things get to be overwhelming, take a break. Things will get done. It’s more important to take time to breathe, relax and enjoy yourself and maintain a healthy relationship with your fiance, friend and family.
