Elena
OK, I had a trial with Elena a couple weeks ago, and I thought she was very patient and talented - she had lots of ideas for my thick curly hair and we tried out a bunch and I'm going back for more next week.... BUT - I agree with Cira in that I felt like the makeup was way too heavy. I've just been giving her the benefit of the doubt and hoping that when i go back and tell her to make it more natural, that she'll be able to do that. Can anyone tell me that they felt the same way, but that on 'the day' or at a second trial, the makeup was softer? I really dont have time to search or the $ to pay someone else for another trial. I'm beginning to get worried! Thanks all!! ~S

Sara ...
I don't know if what attracted you to Elena was the fact that she stayed with you until the first dance. If you are not happy now, you are just going to worry about it that on your wedding day it won't look good. It's just to risky for me. Plus everyone is different. Some girls LOVE Elena, I just wasn't happy with the way I looked. If you change your mind, the girl who I had a trial with yesterday was terrific. Email me: [email protected] and we can get into more in-depth of what she did that was different! :-) I know what you are feeling - I felt the same way. But I decided against it! To risky to wait for the wedding day!

Trial with Elena
When I had my trial two months ago Elena told me upfront that my makeup would be heavier during the trial since we were putting on and taking off some colors. We talked a lot about what I wanted and what looked good, what I didn't like etc.. Since she put on 3 or 4 different blushes (took the color off in between but you really need to wash it off) my makeup was a bit heavy. She told me right away not to worry because during a trial your makeup will be a bit heavier. I believe her. She does makeup for The Emmy's and SNL. I believe that she has done enough brides to know what is the proper amount. No offense to anyone who did not like her. I understand that. We all like different things and that is what makes this board soooo great. But I plan on doing a second trial 1 month before the big day, when I have my real headpiece and veil. When I had my trial I also had not ordered my dress yet. I want her to see the photo to keep everything in line with my dress style. Also, on your wedding day I think your makeup is a bit heavier than usual. It needs to stay on ALL day and night plus look good in photos.

Thanks Michelle
I feel a bit better now :-) I'm pretty much thinking the same thing, and at my second trial with her next week I'm just going to ask her to do me like it's THE day. I might also take some of my own colors with me that I normally wear & have her apply them (only better than I do!) Happy planning!

The same thing happened to me.....
When I went for my trial -- i was in a rush -- and the make-up was nice -- just a bit too heavy -- so we spoke on the phone a few times -- and the day of the wedding -- she came prepared with everything -- and did my makeup soft -- and did everything I asked .. She even changed my lipstick color at the last minute because I wanted darker.. She will do whatever you want -- you just have to tell her... Everyone loved my make-up !!!Welcome New Vendors
