Elizabeth - re: Cocheron (sp?) Park - Bayside
Hi Elizabeth; Are you familiar with Cocheron (sp?) Park just down the street from our church - on the other side of Bell Blvd? We saw it from the top of the hill during the winter - it did not look to pretty in the grey of winter, but we're hoping the trees and flowers will be making it a pretty spot for a quick few pictures after the ceremony. Just wondered if you had seen it in the spring and if there were any pretty photo spots. Are the flowers and trees starting to bud down there in NY yet? Thanks... Karen

Hi Karen- Just the mention of Crocheron Park is bringing back teenage memories for me. I lived away from here for a number of years so I have not been in that park for a long time but there was a gazebo at the top of the hill at one time and a little lake. I can`t vouch for the condition of it these days though. I know another park that is nice is Whitestone Park, they redid the park not that long ago and it is a popular spot because you can get the Bronx Whitestone Bridge in the background of your pics. I see limos there a lot. From your church, I would say it is about 2 miles in the opposite direction of Leonards. I will be out and about this weekend and will try to drive by Crocheron to see what it looks like and let you know. Did your photographer recommend it?

I just saw the sign when we were in town in March, and we drove by and looked from the top of the hill, but did not take the time to drive down by the lake since it was not too pretty in the winter. I figured I'd make another pass by when we come to town on the 25th to see if it had any good photo ops. We only have a short time between the church and reception, so we had not planned to go anywhere for picturesque outdoor shots, but when I saw the park I thought it might be a good option that is right on the way to the reception. The gazebo sounds like it might be nice if it's still there, and in good shape.Welcome New Vendors
