I know this is a page for weddings, but has anyone thought of eloping?

At this stage in planning.....I have thought about it many, many, many times.

We thought about eloping. We had been dating for about 8 years at the time. We had a house, we figured why have a big wedding. Then I thought about how much I really wanted to have 'my wedding day' For our friends and family , who have watched us grow,to watch us get married and enter a new stage of our lives. My wedding was only one month ago, and for all the planning, for all the money, it was the best day of my life, and I will treasure it forever.

We have been dating 7 years and right now not very sure how we're going to be able to afford our wedding in 3 months. We have a house and lots of bills and right now I think we should have just eloped!

Hi Kristi, I know how you feel. My fiance and I have been going out since we were 15 yrs old. We've almost been going out for 8 years. By the time we get married, we'll almost be going out for 9 years. I thought about eloping, so we don't have to deal with all the hassles and come up with the money, but I know it'll be worth it in the end. A Wedding is special, so go for it! :)

Hi Nicole, How long have you been planning your Wedding? My Fiance and I have a lot of bills also, we have to wait till August of 2002 for our wedding, so we'll have plenty of time to try to come up with the money. Family isn't helping with costs, so it's up to us! It's a year and a half away, and already I'm stressing. :)

Hi Melissa, I've been planning for almost a year and a half. I don't know where the time went but we don't have close to half of the money we need. I don't know what we're going to do! All along my fi wanted to elope and I was against it because I didn't want to regret it in years to come but going to the islands right now to be married on the beach sounds pretty good!!!

LOL... My wedding is in a year and a half, and it seems 10 years away! It's like it'll never get here. It's good though, because as of now, we're going to need at least that long to come up with money. We don't even know how we're going to do it. A lot of wishful thinking!!!
