Love how they really care about our well-being... notice how many times they emphasize getting to work!
The forecasts for the impending snow are tricky to decipher. It could be the storm of the century, or it could be just a repeat of last Friday night’s duster.
In light of that we plan to be open for business tomorrow. Please exercise your own judgment should conditions become too hazardous in your area, particularly the outermost suburbs, and modify your plans to get here tomorrow morning
While we are simply too busy to close, we also understand that some will deem travel ill-advised tomorrow. In other words, safety is more critical than productivity.
Good luck and hope to see you tomorrow, safe and sound.

That's awesome. What is it, like a carpool list or something?

...'exercise your own judgment' is a fun little way of escaping liability, so if someone gets in an accident on the way to work it's not their fault, they 'gave you the option'.
The problem isn't even going to be as much getting TO work but getting home, it's supposed to get worse as the day goes on.

Its so stupid because no one told us what it was. We had to write our phone numbers on a piece of paper

Re: email my company just sent...
FH and I got about the same email today at our respective companies. I'm not worried about getting to work but I refuse to be trapped or delayed in the city for hours. If we wake up and there is already a couple of inches on the ground we are both just going to take personal days. Not risking my safety for a company.
FH's company told him that they will definitely NOT be closing. FH said he will definitely NOT be in.

Don't these companies know that not everyone drives a truck? I love driving in the snow, but I'm sure my coworker CAN'T with her rear wheel drive car. Being alive is more important. If you can't drive, then don't. Those emails make me mad for you girls!!!!!

Real nice. Meanwhile, LIRR trains won't run if there are more than 10 inches of snow on the tracks until they can clear them because of what happened with stranded passengers in Dec when we got a foot of snow.
I'm glad I go to school and they close it! If I had work tomorrow, I wouldn't be going.
Be safe tomorrow, everyone, use your heads if you need to go out!

Well, I drive a Rav 4, and I'm still not going in if it's bad...screw that. I will have a panic attack. Light snow, fine. But a blizzaerd?? EFF that. ESPECIALLY when our department was denied a lousy 1% raise for TWO Whole years. They can kiss it.
