emial vs phone call

When first contacting vendors do you usually opt for email or phone call conversations?

if email, how long do you wait to call the vendor if they don't respond to the 1st email? I don't want to look desperate (as I have over a year), but I'm anxious and hate talking on the phone!

I hate hate hate calling people to make appointments...whether it be doctors, hair appointments, vendors, anything.

For that reason I havent gotten my hair cut in over a year or scheduled my makeup trial or hair for epics yet.

Just email. If they dont respond, make FH call.

I email first, I have enough people to contact. It really bothers me when I do an inquiry and it asks me how I prefer to be contacted and I put email only and then they call and KEEP CALLING, I disregard all together, I think it's rude. I don't want a million vendors calling me. If I'm interested in your services, I'll call you.

The other thing that bothers me along these lines is on the vendor board when I ask for a fm quote for something specific and they ask me to call them for a quote by fm. If I wanted to make a bunch of phone calls I would! It's like incorrectly filling out an application for a job interview!

I email the vendors first asking if they have my date available. They usually call me or email me back.

I usually email first to see whether what they have to say is worth a call or visit.

OMG Colleen we are sooo similiar, I hate calling people for anything at all, so I email first for everything and ask for the information needed and then based on that I decide if I want to call

The worst is that Daryn can't call people for me

I am so with you on this, I hate calling to make appointments.

With that said - I usually email the vendor first to get some kind of information and then call to set up an appointment. But with My banquet manager I email him all the time with questions and he gets back to me within a day. Its def. my preferred method...

Re: emial vs phone call

I email for two reasons. One, i HATE talking to strangers on the phone. So does FH. So that will make things like ordering out hard for us lol.

Two, I'm a teacher and while I usually check my email in between periods/during my breaks I really DON'T have time to call/receive calls during the day. Which is why I HATE when I email, tell a vendor I want them to email back, and they call! I so prefer email!

I usually email the vendor first, especially if I just want some basic information. Unless it's necessary, I email them! I HATE CALLING PEOPLE!!! My FH has been the designated go-to guy with phone calls for our wedding planning.
