When first contacting vendors do you usually opt for email or phone call conversations?
if email, how long do you wait to call the vendor if they don't respond to the 1st email? I don't want to look desperate (as I have over a year), but I'm anxious and hate talking on the phone!

Re: emial vs phone call
I e-mail basic questions in order to weed out a large number by the shortest way possible. Then either I-or FH- call to make actual appointments.

I hate hate hate calling people to make appointments...whether it be doctors, hair appointments, vendors, anything.
For that reason I havent gotten my hair cut in over a year or scheduled my makeup trial or hair for epics yet.
Just email. If they dont respond, make FH call.
LOL!!!! i am the EXACT same way... I hate calling for appt's and FH is usually the one doing it...

Re: emial vs phone call
email- if they don't respond... screw em.
I contacted over 20 halls via email and only a hand full replied (with information), most replied asking for my phone number and the others either didn't reply or replied AFTER I booked my hall.
But I'm the same way, I hate calling people (but yet I can spend hours on the phone). FH likes to call... I email.
Like I said, send them an email if they don't reply screw them. OR if you're really interested in them (I did this with a few places) send them an email, wait a week then send them another email telling them they lost a potential client.. that will get their attention.

I email first - If you don't respond - I cross you off my list - I find it makes it much easier to narrow things down.
