Ok....I'm starting to think I'm the only one in my life (besides my FI) that is trying to get this wedding to happen.....my mother told me she wanted to buy my dress, now that the bill is coming in, she conveniently doesn't have the money (there is a looong history of this behavior). I feel like I have nothing done for a wedding in march, all I have is my dress, the hall, the wedding bands, half the registry, my tiara, dj and that's it. Yup...that's it. I'm so tempted to just elope or cut this wedding in half....I find my self gettting fed up so easily with the planning and crying over it. My FI seems to think we have time to get stuff done...but I know we don't. I want to get it all taken care of so I don't have to worry about it....my FI is in retail, and onece Oct. hits...I'll get very little help from him because he'll be immersed in the holiday rush. Can someone please help me out....I feel like crying right now!

Re: emotional breakdown--help! (VENT)
I think you have a lot done!!! My wedding is in May and I do not have nearly as much done as you. I am still looking for a band! You sound like me, a type A personality, very organized and likes to get everything done. You will!!! Just get through it, you can. Do not stress-my stress has already led me to horrible breakouts!!
You will look great on your wedding day and at least you can say that YOU planned the whole day!!!

You have a lot done! Don't get panicked, you have to stay calm because everything will fall into place. I got engaged in March and my wedding is in three weeks! In July I had to switch the venue and I still pulled it all together in two months! You will do great!

Re: emotional breakdown--help! (VENT)
you have a ton done.
What's not done, just make a list and try to knock one off each week (or two week). You can do it, don't let it weigh you down. If lost, come in here, we can always suggest help.
Take it easy and march on little trooper!!

Re: emotional breakdown--help! (VENT)
I had one his weekend- not over the same thing, but over the FINANCES!
Give yourself a chance to breath a little and stay calm. You DO have time.
This site is an excellent source of information. Make a list of what is left for you to get done. Once you start checking off from the list you will SEE your accomplishments and won't feel so overwhelmed.
What EXACTLY is it that you need to get done?
I see that you still need a florist, limos, and a Photographer.
Why don't you make some appointments with some of the vendors on this site. I don't know what your schedule is like, but even if you need to go to some on your own or with someone close to you, (in case your FI can't make it) you will feel like you are getting closer to finishing up.
If you need any info about working within a certain budget- post for us and we will help you in any way that we can!!!!
Good Luck, and trust me it will get done!!!!

You seem fine with the plans and its going to be ok. There are plenty of limo and florists places, so I would say first to get your photographer. do you have a budget, as the other girl wrote, we can all give you suggestions for what your budget is on vendors... it will work out wonderful, and it can be done without your fiances help, thats what liweddings is here for

RELAX! Go get a massage, take a Yoga class or just go to your favorite place alone and regroup. You have alot more done than you think. I plan events for a living so my advice to you is to sit down and make a simple checklist. One side 'Things Completed' and the other side 'Needs to be Completed.' Prioritize the 'Needs to be Completed' list. Hang the list somewhere you have to see it each day, on the back of your front door, near your phone, in the bathroom, wherever. Each week commit to work on ONE item at a time. When you've gotten that item booked or completed put a big fat check mark next to it. I still do this when I'm planning a detailed event for work and you guessed it, I'm doing it for my own wedding! It's easy to get overwhelmed, you still have six months left, plenty of time!! You'll be fine, I know you will and everything will be perfect.

oh sweetie...you have SO much time...my suggestion is (after your much needed massage) to make lists...what needs to be done...and in what order...then make yourslef or designate someone to get that item done in a certain month...
you still have a lot of time to pay off your dress...try sending them $100 a month...and maybe your mother will come through...

Re: emotional breakdown--help! (VENT)
Most important thing...relax! You have plenty of time (I know you're sick of hearing that...but you really do). Just make your lists like everyone is suggesting and you will knock them off the list in no time.
Some of us on these boards (me included) are getting married in the next 2-3 months and don't have everything done yet. Things happen that take time away from the wedding planning...you'll see. But, it's ok...it doesn't all have to be done right now. You may even want to hold off on doing things...some girls change their minds a lot and regret doing things too early.
Have fun with all the planning...don't let it stress you out. We'll let you know when you should hit the panic button...but for now, you're just fine.
And, about the mother thing...I'm sorry...but it will all work out for you...you'll see!

YOu have done so much! You should consider Taking a few weeks to just relax. Forget about the planning for now. You'll get back into it.

RELAX!!! You have time, don't worry so much. We are getting married in January and we still don't have rings, limo's, invites, etc. etc...We are just doing a little at a time. It will all come together, and you are ahead of schedule right now. Don't worry too much and just try to pace yourself.

Re: emotional breakdown--help! (VENT)
I agree with everyone else, try to relax for a little while. You really do have a lot done.
11 months before our wedding I booked the location, ordered my dress, and blocked the hotel rooms. Everything I've been doing the last 5 months prior to the wedding. EVERYTHING!!!
Maybe write down a plan and budget of everything else you would like to do. Seeing it on paper may make you feel a lot better!
