Empty registry - and people are asking

Empty registry - and people are asking

Ok - I have a bunch of guests coming to my wedding from out of town. I know that sometimes out of town guests tend to bring a gift instead of giving money. Well, some of my friends have asked where I am registered, but both of my registries are completely empty aside from an air purifier that FH wants (and I could care less about).
What should I tell them????

you can never have too many towels, sheets or glasses!

Re: Empty registry - and people are asking

I guess I could register for more towels - it just urks me to but expensive towels when I would be happy with towels from Target verses $40 per towel from Fortunoff's!

And about the glasses, I have 54 (3 sets of different glasses) my mom is crazy in telling me to regsiter for 18 of glasses and 16 of china! When will I ever use it all!!!

I don't know if htis would be considered tacky or not, but maybe ask for gift cards, so you can buy things when you actually need them, you know?

perhaps you can do a honeymoon registry. We did this and got some extra cash for the honeymoon!

We are in the same boat. We have been living with each other almost 9 yrs and have most everything we need. And plan on moving out to Suffolk it doesn't make sense to buy all this new stuff till after. We are telling people to get gift cards at Crate & Barrel or cash. I still feel funny knowing exact #s but I'll get over it.

Best Wishes,

Thomas

I like the idea of the HM registry

or you could add more stuff...and return it for store credit if you really dont want to keep it.

That's not crazy-you might host a holiday at your house, or one plate could break, this way you have a back up....
Here are some things that maybe you didn't think of:

napkin rings
desert dishes (these come in handy for shrimp cocktail too)
ice bucket
roomba
vases
dust buster
all your china (gravy boat, matching coffee or tea pot, butter dish, casserole dishes)
wine decanters
seafood forks
pie cutter
storage chest for silver/flatware
large foreman grill
electric carving knife (this is so awesome to have)
crockpot
towel rack
luggage

just a few suggestions....
hope this helps!!!!!

Things I would register for if everything else was purchased:

Table linens (forgot about that!)
Luggage
Extra dishtowels
Microwave cart
Gift cards

You can always register for more, or tell them where you were registered and when they look it up they will see that you have nothing left. OR... you can just tell them that your registries are empty.
