Has any one ever had to take their child to one? I just came from my Dr. & they want to my baby to one. They say he's too big, off his charts. He is a big boy but he's not fat. He will be 1 year in 2weeks. He is 31 lbs. & 32 in. long. I guess I'm just upset & was wondering if anyone else had to go through it.

we almost had to go to one, my daughter is a tiny one and she was beginning to fall off the growth chart, they'll probably want to make sure his thyroid isn't underactive. Is there good reason for his size? Like, does he eat alot, and does the food consist of high calorie and fat, and also, is he active? Don't get nuts about it, some kids are just bigger or smaller than the 'average', and the average is based on charts made from the mid west from the early 60's (ridiculous!), is your family big boned?

No, I don't think there is a good reason for his size. He doesn't eat alot. I make sure he eats good foods. He is very very active. There are some tall people on my side. They just always seem to tell me he's too big & it upsets me. He is just a big boy. He doesn't have rolls of fat on him, just big & tall. Actually in his last 3 visits he hasn't gained much weight. I think I was just bothered when I came home. Thanks for responding.
