we had a really casual backyard tented engagement party. with tons of candles and loose rose pettals as decor... this makes for something that is inexpensive, but still looks stunning :)

That sounds perfect! We are having ours in the club house where we live. My bridal party is hosting it along with my dad but they all live out of town so I feel like I have to pull some things together decorations wise and maybe a blown up photo of us or something?

Instead of having a sign in book we did a sign in board with a big picture of us in the middle of it.

We didnt have an engagement party but did host a backyard bbq for our family. We used hot pink and lime green as colors - think watermelon. We used mason jars with flowers in them, so pretty. Used bright tablewear. Super fun!

You might also want to consider a favor...we put ours together with stuff from Oriental Trading as well as personalized Candy Bars - everyone loved them!
