Nassau or Suffolk we are pretty flexible. FH doesn't want it to feel to reception hallish
Check out West Sayville Country Club, it's a lessings place right on the great south bay. It doesn't have that reception hall feeling at all and you can do the cocktail hour outside on the lawns and bring backyard games if you want.

We were originally trying to stay away from reception hallish places but fell in love with Lombardi's on the Bay. It's a bit reception hallish so may be a bit too much for you. Check out the Lessing's places like Heather said. Snapper Inn Pavilion is also beautiful and right on the water. That was definitely one of my favorites, but it is a bit expensive. I also have some quotes from wineries on the North Fork, but they are also too expensive for us.
Congrats!...check out the Lessings venues they are very reasonable in price. We are getting married at timberpoint, ask to meet with Miriam if you go, she's a sweetheart!

Miller place surf club is really nice it is a bit on the smaller side. The view from the back is amazing. I tried to Post a photo for you but the site never uploads them to my post. I will see if I can fm you the pic.

2014er Crashing, I recommend all of the Lessing venues, especially Smithtown Landing Country club, they offer an all inclusive now, but not when I booked, and for 100 in July we are still under 10k. The level of service and customization they've given me too is phenomenal. Good Luck on wedding planning and Congrats!
