One word of advice since you're like me and are paying for it yourselves...
Start saving now! It all adds up and can be very overwhelming...

We're looking to have @ 150 people.
I heard there is a bridal expo tonight at the Millridge so we're going to head over there. While we're there we might as well look at the carriage house. I heard it's nice.

That's a good idea. The bridal expos at the catering halls can give you ideas on vendors like bands, photographers, florists etc.

Danfords, in Port Jeff had reasonable prices as well! And its right on the water, etc..
try not to get too overwhelmed - you'll have a wonderful wedding!

Thatched Cottage is in your price range, we're having our wedding there and I think the place is beautiful ..

Wow! What a weekend!! 10 places in 4 days and 2 more halls to see. Here's the update:
Stewart Manor Country Club- Very nice but just not 'us'
Sandcastle- Same as above
Metropolitan- Very nice and different. Was a consideration for us especially because most of our guest would have never been there. FI liked more than I
Milleridge Cottage- Very nice. Consideration! I liked more than FI
Fox Hollow- We both like the Garden Terrace but they want us to guarantee 175 and we really didn't want to go that high.
Larkfield Manor- Same as SMCC and Sandcastle
The Harbor Club- We liked but FI said there was something about it he didn't feel comfortable with
Thatched Cottage- Same as above
Danfords- Very nice but we were worried because the dance floor is seperate from the rest of the room
Watermill- TOP choice so far. We happened to be driving by and I finally convinced him to stop. He thought it would be out of our price range but we ended up both loving it. And it works with our price range (Sunday in April). Brian is really nice and made us feel so comfortable. Even though we're paying for it ourselves, we're going to bring our parents back for the final ok.
Tomorrow night we're looking at Captain Bills and the Riviera. We'll see.
I'm tired......
Oh yeah.... He proposed by taking me to the Water Club in NYC overlooking the East River. After dinner he got up to go to the bathroom and when he came back he was kneeling next to me. It was so unexpected but so perfect! The waiters ran over and popped champagne.
