Engaged at your reception

OMG....so I came across and old post and was so upset about the thought

what would you do/ how would you feel if a couple got engaged during your reception?

My thoughts: THE NERVE. I WOULD BE SO MAD. He would have to pay me a significant amount of money because weddings are not cheap and he is basically trying to get a 'special engagement for his lady'on my tap.....and even then it should be about my husband and I and not my husband and I and the newly engaged couple. Don't mean to be mean but NEVER...

Id have them kicked out. Im not paying tons of money so you can get some thunder at my wedding lol. That just would not fly with me. & if someone ran that by me i would uninvite them

I have heard this before also and
1) I have no idea why someone would even consider doing it and 2) why would you want to get engaged at someone else's wedding? I personally would not. It is extremely distasteful in my opinion and yes, I would lose it and throw them out, before he even got the ring oon her finger, no questions asked

I wouldn't blame the girl that's for sure, it is definitely the guy's fault..........they never think....AND they don't realize the importance of the wedding to a bride. It's just a no-brainer on the guy's fault to ask at another person's wedding

OMG, you know I always think about this. My cousin who is also a BM was not too happy when I got engaged because apparently she thought she was going to get engaged last year. Oh well, I'm sorry that my boyfriend of soon to be 9 years decided to propose. And I always wonder what if her bf decides to propose during our wedding reception; I would be so pissed off. They are the type of couple who only thinks about themselves. Seriously if he proposes during my big day I'm going to go on a rampage.

I don't think it's nice to steal someone's thunder like that. People plan for months, sometimes years for the big day and for someone to just take that day away from them is just rude and wrong.

Very Rude and Tacky!!!

I went on a destination cruise and 2 of the guests got engaged during it! And the couple that got engaged first had the nerve to get mad at the second couple!

I guess it goes to show that people don't have any originality anymore or they want the attention. Not only is it tacky & distasteful, it's not something that should make a woman excited esp at the expense of someone else wedding. If DH proposed to me in that scenario not only would I had said No, I would had beaten him for even attempting to do something like that just to save money. I would had told him to go out and think of something original, book a restaurant, arrange a picnic, something but not like this at a wedding.
