I guess it goes to show that people don't have any originality anymore or they want the attention. Not only is it tacky & distasteful, it's not something that should make a woman excited esp at the expense of someone else wedding. If DH proposed to me in that scenario not only would I had said No, I would had beaten him for even attempting to do something like that just to save money. I would had told him to go out and think of something original, book a restaurant, arrange a picnic, something but not like this at a wedding.

very true

My friend is getting married this June and was begging my FH to propose to me at her wedding! LOL Why I don't know. I guess he couldn't wait till June since he asked me on Valentines Day. lol

OMG....so I came across and old post and was so upset about the thought

what would you do/ how would you feel if a couple got engaged during your reception?

My thoughts: THE NERVE. I WOULD BE SO MAD. He would have to pay me a significant amount of money because weddings are not cheap and he is basically trying to get a 'special engagement for his lady'on my tap.....and even then it should be about my husband and I and not my husband and I and the newly engaged couple. Don't mean to be mean but NEVER...

My cousin got engaged 2 weeks before her sister's wedding and asked if their engagement could be announced at her wedding. My cousin FLIPPED OUT. After she calmed down, they compromised...she said that she would have the dj announce their engagement the last half hour of the reception (when everyone has gone home, haha). It's ok, though, b/c when it was time for my cousin to get married, her sister had a 4 month old baby that she was trophying around the reception. What goes around comes around!

Sisters are evil!!! I'm glad I have a brother.

This happened at my cousin's wedding about a 2 1/2 years ago..I posted about it, so I don't know if that was the old post you came across, lol.

It was odd. The guy took the mic from the DJ and then proceeded to propose to his girlfriend in the middle of the reception. My cousin is very simple and low key, and her and her husband seemed genuinely happy for them. I would've been annoyed. Everyone sitting at my table was like, huh? Did this just happen? Then again, the whole wedding was different (not a LI wedding), but that's another story.
