anyone know of any good place for an engagement party, thats not too expensive but a nice place?

we're having ours at captain bills, its not too expensive and the minimum in the smaller room is only 30.

I don't know what 'not too expensive' means to you, but a really nice place for an engagement party is Caffe on the Green in Bayside, Queens.

we had ours at marconi manor in islip...like another girl said, not sure what inexpensive is to you and also how big your guest list is....ours with tax and tip was about $50 pp and that included a dj and buffet style food with dessert....the minimum i think was 50 people

Not sure where you live but you may also want to try Piccolo's in Bellmore on Sunrise Hwy. It's a pretty restaurant with good food and very reasonable prices.
Also, La Piazza in Merrick on Merrick Road does big parties but I don't think the atmosphere is as nice there - although they do have a separate catering hall but I'm guessing it's a bit pricey to have a party there. Worth a shot though!
Oh and Viva Locos on Merrick Road is a really fun restaurant with a bar scene. That could be nice for an engagement party.
