We are not having an engagement party or doing photos. I feel like everyone else is. Did anyone else skip out on these things.

Re: Engagement
We are not doing an engagement party either. I don't feel it's really necessary, my wedding is enough. We did do E-pics because my photographer offered them.

Oh good. I'm glad others think the party unnecessary.

Re: Engagement
I just did it my style. I didn't have an e-party, nor a bridal shower. I just felt like these were too much work for what it was worth. I don't regret either decision.
E-pics are usually included in your photography package...and is like a photo shoot.
Remember....this is YOUR life & you don't HAVE to do anything....no particular colors, no particular styles, ect. This is what makes you unique...your ability to choose.

Re: Engagement
We did the e-party and will do e-pics, but I know plenty of people that didn't do them and it didn't affect the engagement or wedding otherwise. Just do what you want to do!!!

We didn't have an e-party, didn't feel like it was necessary. Even though e-pics are included in our photo package, we are not doing them b/c FH is being a pain in the butt he hates having his picture taken.

we didn't have an e-party cause we didn't have enough $$$ for it and letting my mom run the show would have been too stressful. we are going to book our photographer w/ e-photos included.

Re: Engagement
We skipped the engagement party but we are doing engagement pictures. The reason we are doing this is because it comes with the package with our photographer and it is a way to see how he photographs and stuff.

Re: Engagement
I'm not having an e-party because of two reasons 1) my engagement happened during a christmas party I hosted so it kind of turned into an engagement party (all the important people were there) and 2) we wanna save all our money for the wedding.. :)
I want to have e-pics, and I am looking for a photographer now... so I want that to be a part of my package... so far the first photographer didn't include it...

Re: Engagement
I'm somewhat anti-eparties. I mean if people want to have them, that's cool. But they're just not for me. I feel like I'm having this big wedding where I plan to have everyone come and celebrate and it's costing a ton, so why spend money on an e-party? Plus, I feel like people tend to go lower with gifts come time of the wedding if they went to an e-party. Cause they're like oh well I gave you this at your e-party, so I'm not going to give you as much at your wedding - which ***** cause the weddings are usually a lot pricier! I don't know, but I feel bad making people feel like they have to continue giving me gifts just cause I'm getting married - e-party, shower, wedding. It's just too much for me.
As for e-photos, it's included in my package so I'm eventually going to get them done.

Re: Engagement
We decided not to have an engagement party and just save the $$ for the wedding. We'll be doing e-pics once we decided on a photographer.

I agree. How many times can you ask people for a gift to celebrate the same occasion.

Re: Engagement
We didnt do any of those. Its not necessary. We were considering an E party for a good amount of time!! We decided against it, and many of our friends and family thought it wasnt necessary either. We got alot of congrats cards with gifts in the mail and phone calls to say congrats! I can see having an intimate party just the two immediate families, but having over 100 people..........its like having 2 weddings in a short amount of time...thats too much for people...and just crazy!!!
