Re: Engagement
My FH is from upstate New York and his family has never even heard of an engagement party, lol. Luckily I'm pretty much anti-eparty. I think it's a waste especially if you're struggling with $ for the wedding. If someone offers to pay for your eparty, ask them to donate that $ to the actual wedding instead. But that's just how I feel.

Re: Engagement
we are not doing an e-party, we would rather put that money towards the wedding. We might do e-pics depending on when we book our photographer

We didn't have an engagement party. We didn't feel the need to have one.

Re: Engagement
We aren't having an engagement party or taking engagement photos either.
My family does not believe in engagement parties and I doubt FH's family has ever heard of one. It's just not something that we do or that we would have wanted. Besides, how many times can we ask for a gift between the shower and reception? It starts to boarder on the ridiculous...
As for engagement photos - never heard of them until I starting posting on here. I custom tailored my package to my needs so engagement photos were not included.

Re: Engagement
we weren't all about it but FMIL wanted to throw us one.....it ended up being nice because she kept it small with just immediate family & the bridal party. our photographer included e-pics per booking with him...they were basically free so why not? just gave us some nice photos & we got to display a large one & our album at our reception. just a nice keepsake....but hey to each is own - i know PLENTY of people who've done neither! like i said, FMIL wanted to throw us the party, and the e-shoot was offered

I'm somewhat anti-eparties. I mean if people want to have them, that's cool. But they're just not for me. I feel like I'm having this big wedding where I plan to have everyone come and celebrate and it's costing a ton, so why spend money on an e-party? Plus, I feel like people tend to go lower with gifts come time of the wedding if they went to an e-party. Cause they're like oh well I gave you this at your e-party, so I'm not going to give you as much at your wedding - which ***** cause the weddings are usually a lot pricier! I don't know, but I feel bad making people feel like they have to continue giving me gifts just cause I'm getting married - e-party, shower, wedding. It's just too much for me.
As for e-photos, it's included in my package so I'm eventually going to get them done.
I agree. How many times can you ask people for a gift to celebrate the same occasion.
totally agree!!!

Re: Engagement
We didnt have an engagement party, and only did the epics because they were included in the package. As it turns out we did have a use for them, as we are using them for our table numbers.

Re: Engagement
We're not having an e-party and we're only doing e-pics because one of my BM's is an up and coming photographer so she's going to come up from Philly to do them one weekend.

we're not having an engagement party or doing e-pics...most people do e-pics because their photographer offers it as part of their package
