Engagement
So we finally booked our engagement party for April 20th at the Bonwitt Inn! I am excited and I am wondering what actually goes on at an engagement party? It is going to be for 4 hours with dinner and such. Do we just mingle, eat, and socialize? Someone said we can play a game? I don't know. I think it would be boring just eating and socializing.I was also wondering what everyone is doing for decorations? Do we need centerpieces and all that? What is a good favor for guests?
Any advice? Thanks!

Congrats!! Ours was 4 hours with eating and mingling etc, it was fine!! We had some background music also (it was at a firehouse). As for decorations we did have CP but they were DIY (vases with leaves etc) then we had orange table cloths and sprinkled extra leaves on the table (we're having a fall theme wedding. As for the favors, I got pretty bags from the dollar store added Hershey kisses and our save the date magnet as a favor. Saved some money with postage making them part of the favors. It'll fly and be fun don't worry!! Hope this helps

Our was 4 hours. We ate & mingled. Honestly time flew. We took some family pics and bridal party photos. For center pieces I alternated cookie jars and flower centerpieces. I have an album on here if you want to check it out. We didn't play any games and we also did a candy bar along with our favors.

Ours is at KoC in Seaford. We got a DJ...and after reading this thread it looks like maybe we didn't need one!! I guess if it was in a restaurant we wouldn't have gotten one, but there's a huge dance floor! We're going with balloon CP's, and Jelly Belly's in small apothecary jars for favors.

We had ours at a restaurant and was 1-5(6-ish). We had a ton of appetizers, salad, main course, dessert, cake, homemade wine. We just put some balloon centerpieces and gave away little boxes with pink & red m&ms that had a personalized ribbon and sticker on it. We had a gift table and just mingled around. We took photos, my dad gave a speech and we had a congratulation cake. It was SO much fun and it flew by!

Our favors doubled as placecard holders. The placecard holders went home with the guests and could hold a picture after you were done with them. We had balloons on each table and I sprinkled fake rose petals to add color on the table clothes. Then we are using the rose petals at our wedding too.
