Engagement Announcement

Did anyone put an announcement in the paper?
I havent done it yet - what did you write?
We decided not have an engagement party - we just had a big party at our house and didnt call it an engagement party b/c we didnt want to people to bring gifts.
Anyway I dotn know what to sya in teh announcement - I have so far
Megan & chris are thrilled to announce their engagement. A wedding date is set for May 13, 2007.

WHat else shoudl I add?

we put ours in the paper, well actually my parents did,

it said something along the lines of

Mr & Mrs So & So is please to annoucne the engagement of their daughter toni , to michael so & so, son of Mr & Mrs so & so,, A spring 2007 wedding has been planned,

Ours was worded more or less the same

I have mine hanging my desk at work and it says....

The parents of (bride) and (groom) are proud to announce their engagement. A December 2007 wedding is planned.


Another idea...

Mr. and Mrs. (bride) announce the engagement of their daughter (bride) to groom, son of (groom's parents). A 2007 wedding is planned. We wish them a lifetime of happiness.

please mine was very difficult to word, both our parents are divorced, his are both remarried & his dad lives outta state, my parents are not remarried , but I could say mrs & mrs,,

so bascially we sounded like vagabonds once it was printed,, LOL

mine is hard to word also b/c my mom passed away and my dad remarried and I dotn want to say I am th daughter of my stepmom - onlystep daughter - I feel its wrong to my mom to say that ( the inviations should be fun!) and FH's parents are divorved so we're just going to do it ourselves - so what I had before is fine right?
