Engagement Announcements??

Ok so we are having our eparty this weekend coming up and I was talking to FMIL last night and she said she wanted me to look into getting engagement announcements made up so we can send them to family in Florida who will not be invited to the wedding.

Is that weird?

She says that someone in the fam was like ohh I wanna send them a card....ok but isnt that rude to send these people cards annoucing our engagement 5 months after the fact and they wont be invited to the wedding?

I just dont know how all this works and she told me to order like 25?? w t f how many ppl are not invited that are family just seems weird to me.

need some opions on this.

Oh and I totally get that she is tring to get us some extra cash wich is nice lol...

IMO, I wouldn't send anyone anything who isn't going to be invited.

This is why I didn't give anyone at work or FH's work a STD, or an announcement. I am sure they know about it already, if they were going to send somehting wouldn't they have done it within the past 5 months already?

I think it is a little weird to be sending them out five months after the fact. Also, that these people aren't invited. The people receiving them may perceive them to be save the date cards and then expect to get an invitation.

ok so I am not crazy I think it is tacky. If we were inviting them then I would have def sent something but I would have done it right away.

yea I told FMIL I already got save the dates and she was like no just an annoucement since they wont be invited....lolollol OOOOKKKKK
