Did anyone send out engagement announcements? Or did you just wait to send out Save The Dates? I had mentioned to FH that after we get our engagement photos done, we should send out announcements to family and friends. He was like, 'Who does that anymore? Everyone knows!' lol Just wanted to see what everyone else did....or plans on doing.....

I think 20 seconds after FH and I got engaged his mother sent out an engagement announcement lol

My mom pretty much wanted to send out announcements right away too, but I was like omg the date is so far off! So i convinced her that Save the dates were better, and to wait until about a year out to send them, lets hope she still remembers that she offered to pay for them!

I called my cousin, my parents and my roommate.
I got off the phone, maybe 15 minutes total of conversation and saw that I had 20 alerts on fb..all wishing me a congrats...so not announcements were needed
do what you feel is best for you :)

Thanks everyone :) I think we are going to save the money that would be spent on an engagement party and put it towards the wedding. :)

It was up on facebook like 20 min after he proposed LOL, with a pic of the ring. Our situation is a little different since it was obvious that we were getting engaged soon and were also having a 3 year engagement...so we dont plan to send them out...but its totally up to you! I do think its a wasted expense though...wait until the STDs. I was at 4 weddings this year and didnt get any E announcements, just STDs.

We had an engagement party 3 months after we got engaged and we are going to send out STDs one year before the weddding. You can use your engagement photos on your STDs.

Yea FH and I didnt send anything out like that..we just had our e-party and then we are guna send STD out once we do our epics

My Grandmother is still waiting on a picture from me so she can put it in every paper she can think of, lol. I will probably wait and do STDs one year out. Thanks ladies! :)

My mom posted us in Newsday...i think. We have about 10 of them at home bc everyone that saw us, saved it for us! lol
