So, the ? is: how does her mom mention that with the Engagement invitation Please help.

Re: Engagement ? for my Friend in Florida
If I'm not aware where a couple is registered we give cash, actually for e-parties we always give cash

Re: Engagement ? for my Friend in Florida
i don't know that i would include any info like that on an invite but rather wait for ppl to ask where they are registered (liek ask her mom when they rsvp) and have her mom say they haven't yet and they are worried about having to get everything back to FL...that should clue ppl in to give $$$

Re: Engagement ? for my Friend in Florida
Hummm... i think it's kinds of weird to say that in an invite. If they're concerned with carrying gifts home, they should have the store ship directly to Florida and mom can tell everyone that instead.
I don't know, it's JMHO. I would think it's a little rude.

I don't think you really can request that on an invitaion, there is just no correct way to do that.

Re: Engagement ? for my Friend in Florida
I had the same problem. I live in NC but had my engagement party in NY. I just did not register until after the e-party and everyone, except one friend gave me $$. It worked out well but I did not write anything about that on the invite. HTH

Re: Engagement ? for my Friend in Florida
tell her not to register. where there is no registry most will assume that she does not want anything specific and will probably write a check in lieu of searching for a gift.
