Engagement Gift for FH?

Original post by AdriandSteve

I've heard this a few times and with the post below i thought i'd ask...

Who has gotten their FH an engagement gift. His friends ask what he got and some are serious but i didn't realize this was something they get even though we get a ring lol.

If you did get FH an engagement gift what was it?

Not really. But I bought him a Superbowl gift (weird I know, but I do it every year in lieu of V-day), and went a little overboard this year. I bought him the shot chiller off of our registry.

i have to say, we dont do vday gifts at all, just cards but i LOVE that you do you for vday and him for supebowl, i think thats awesome

We started it when I was in college b/c he hates v-day, but I wanted something more than flowers one year. Yes I'm spoiled sometimes So I told him that I'd start getting him a Superbowl gift if he got me a v-day gift. So I usually try to get him something Dallas Cowboys related (his fav team). But this year I was in the midst of beginning wedding planning, so I never got around to it. So I just bought him one of his things off the registry. Then for v-day, he bought me my hostess set for my silverware and my fondue pot from our registry

I didn't... Although recently we got FH a new truck and due to his past accident I helped to but majority of the down payment. Soooo I guess that's his gift. Now I just have to tell him it was lol

Hmmm I didn't even realize this was a thing... I think I'll probably get him something for the E-party. I'm not sure what though, I'd like to do something REALLY special that has to do with something that he loves.

The only thing he really loves though are sports! What am I gonna do? Get a New York Yankee to swing by the E-party???

I'm having a ring made for him. I don't know if it's an italian thing or if its just what my family does, but the girl always buys an engagement gift for the guy. It's usually a men's solitaire diamond ring, but I know my FH has never worn rings before so I gave him the option of choosing the ring or a nice watch since hes a watch fanatic. I think it's fair to return a gift after he spent so much money on a beautiful ring for me. I think he deserves it

i bought him a Salvatore Ferragamo belt & cufflinks before our e-party for him to wear the day of. I was going to buy him to shoes too but he yelled at me & told me not to (then went and bought them for himself).

I plan on buying him a watch & giving it to him the day of the wedding.
