I've heard this a few times and with the post below i thought i'd ask...
Who has gotten their FH an engagement gift. His friends ask what he got and some are serious but i didn't realize this was something they get even though we get a ring lol.
If you did get FH an engagement gift what was it?

I did...FH is a car fanatic....so I asked him what he wanted and he wanted these rare STI rims...well $1500 later he got them and loves them

I didnt. The wedding is expensive enough, I dont want to waste money on unnecessary gifts : )

I just gave FH an e-gift this past weekend, right before our e-party. I got him cufflinks made from the original wood seats at Yankee stadium, before they changed over to plastic seats. He's a huge Yankee fan, and I wanted him to have something as special and unique as my e-ring. They're not very expensive and I know his plan is to get them all for his groomsmen too for the wedding, so I thought it would be nice to get them for him.

I got him engagement/bday gift: an expansive watch he was going on about since we started dating. I always thought that its a bit unfair for the girl to get the expansive ring and for the guy nothing FH totally deserved that, he got me for engagement 3 rings, 2 of which are engagement and painted me a painting after not painting for over 3 years (u can see the painting in my album)!

no it hasnt even occured to us. we dont usually get anniversary gifts either. just a nice dinner. thats more $$$$ that i wouldnt be able to spend on my wedding!

well its tradition for his family to give me something, and mine to him.... my parents got him a nice watch, his family got me a jewlery set

I may get him a little something because I feel bad that he got an amazing ring for me and he gets nothing in return. Don't want to go too crazy though, every cent of mine goes into the wedding fund!

Not really. But I bought him a Superbowl gift (weird I know, but I do it every year in lieu of V-day), and went a little overboard this year. I bought him the shot chiller off of our registry.

Since FH really doesn't have family, All the money my family gave us for our engagement. We bought a 60' inch TV right before we left NY. And since the store doesn't exist here in TX, we didn't have to pay tax on it. And it arrived the same day we did
So it was kind of a 'joint' gift, but he is totally stoked about his new Telly!

i have to say, we dont do vday gifts at all, just cards but i LOVE that you do you for vday and him for supebowl, i think thats awesome
