Engagement Parties

Hi Girls!

I have a silly question... Is an engagement party supposed to be a certain amount of time before the wedding?

We just got engaged in Nov, and were thinking of having an engagement party this Jan 2005 and the weddding will be in April 2006... is that too much time in between the engagement party and wedding?

Congrats on your engagment.

I think that is ok. I had my engagment party in June...and Im not getting married till June 06. IMO I dont think that it is to much time inbetween.

How far in advance should invites for an informal engagement party be sent?

Your timeline is perfect. At minimum, there should be a year between the time of an engagement party and a wedding.

We sent ours out eaither the end of april or beginning of May...Im not sure exactly...Our party was June 26th...

oh no!! We want to have ours MLK weekend... thats in like less than a month... we better get moving!! We just made a decision to have one tonight... Do you girls think we are better off having it later, or do you think we could pull it off?
