Some people suggested registering before our engagement party. Any thoughts?

we did - but not too many people bought off of it - i still like the gifts i got from the registry then most of the other gifts

We decided not to because we thought it might bee seen as looking for gifts. We waited until before my shower and registered then.

We registered before ours, but didn't mention it on the invitations. A lot of people asked my family where we were registered and we ended up getting a lot of stuff off of it.
We didn't register for a lot of things, but it worked out good and we got half of our china for our engagement party.

Yeah that sounds like a good idea. Alot of my family and friends suggested it because we have a house already and they are not sure what we need. TY

I registered for a few things, and got some of them, it can't hurt. I did not tell anyone I was registered or where UNLESS they asked. IMO you shouldn't really expect to get gifts....but it is always nice

we registered before b/c tons of people were asking and my mom thought we should do it. we got tons of stuff off of them, which leaves me in a dilema now, with my shower approaching.
