Heyyy we're going to have ours in FH's backyard in July. We're going to have it catered though, because I can't BBQ because whenever I do my eyes tear up and I don't think FH wants to bbq for 60 people haha

Still looking into places, but considering a family members house. I don't want it to compete with the wedding and I'd rather it be more casual and def less expensive.

I had mine at home because we wanted a more casual feel and didn't want to spend a million dollars on it.

i dont know what kind of food you are having catered, but if you want BBQ check out Bassett Catering in brooklyn... they are pretty reasonablely priced for a BBQ. they bring their own grills and prepare/cook everything for you. their food is really good too. my whole family uses them. We were going to use them if we have our tent party, which is still up in the air.

We had ours at the Bayview House at Captain Bills. It was def a big party, but we have big families... I think it just set the tone for our kick *** wedding! I'm so happy we had a party like we did, we had a great time, the food was awesome, and we got to celebrate with our entire family! You never know what tomorrow brings, and I'm happy to have the memories we created with our grandparents, etc.!

We are having ours on 6/27 and FILs house as a BBQ casual event. We are having it half catered (meaning - we will be making half of the stuff - my family cooks such tasty stuff!) and renting a tent/tables/etc. I am really looking forward to it!

We are having our RD there! We had our e-party at The Metropolitan in Glen Cove. They were very reasonable and great service, great food. Here's a link to my review! E-Party Review Good luck!

Having mine in June in a seperate room at a restaurant. No dj or anything fancy and a buffet type meal. I didn't even want one but my family insisted on it

I had mine in a hall and went all out ! i dont regret it ..it was awesome everyone had a great time ...BUT I really wish i would have done a smaller, more casual one and would have used that money torwards the wedding.

it was really stressful too ..

We are having ours in July at my fiance's parents' house. The plan is to invite about 60 people. My future father in law will probably do some cooking and cater the rest. I think it will be a nice casual no stress party.
