We had ours back in February at the Hibernian Hall in Babylon. I used to dance there and my father and I are members, I always knew I'd have my engagement party there.
It was amazing. my FH's family friends 50th anniversary is coming up and they want to copy EVERYTHING we did, from the food to the CP's to the linen colors.
I'm happy they liked it so much, but a little offended that they want to COPY us.

We paid about $25-30/pp.. the bill is split weird, because the caterer is one price, the hall is another, the alcohol is another, etc. plus favors, CPs, etc.
We split the overall bill 3 ways, FH and I paid $750, his parents paid $750 and my parents paid $750... plus they paid for the DJ and a few extra friends that I wasn't going to invite, but I'm happy my father did.
Because I've known everyone from the hall I got a great deal.
Once I have time and figure out how to upload pictures on here I'll try and upload some from the party.

Davenports in mineola, Private rooms and outstanding food,. We tried the metropolitan in glen cove, food was terrible.

Ours was at our house. My parents catered it and had tents etc. I wanted something laid back, inexpensive and not stuck to a tight schedule. We had about 60-70 people and it was great!
