Engagement Party

Original post by goingtobemrs

I know I shouldn't be asking this, because it is not the point of the party but....how much money did you make and with how many people? And did you pay off bills with that or did it go right into your savings?

Funny. Everyone gets picture frames. Well, they can replace my cheesy CVS pastic clear frames!

My E party turned out to be more of a 'meeting of the families'. We had about 30 people. It was very informal. We didnt get money but did get gift cards to places we registered at.

Re: Engagement Party

We had about 75 people, immediate family and friends we intended to be in the bridal party. We had a nice mix of gifts- money, presents (same as the other girls, picture frames, vases) and gift certificates. I think we made about $2,000 which we used to open a joint savings account with and start the wedding fund. It came in handy especially when it came down to making the deposit for our hall. We hadn't registered only because we knew the engagement was going to be so long and didn't get to it before the party. My friend just had her e-party and was registered, so she got a TON of stuff off her registry.

We just had our party- there were 90 people there. We had gotten some gifts, but the majority was money- We really didn't expect that, I thought we would get the majority of gifts. I was thrilled b/c we just bought a house and needed the $.

Anyway, we ended up with just under $7,000 and some really nice gifts- our china place settings and so on. We had it at the Fox Hollow so I guess people thought they shoudl give more. Not bad right... can't wait to see what we get for the wedding!
