Engagement Party

My engagement party is Saturday and I am sooo sleepy and soooo nervous! Any ideas about how to calm my nerves.

Oh and by the way...my fiance and I are cooking for over 100 people. We are so stressed and I am losing sleep more and more every single night!]

HELP!

Re: Engagement Party

I completely understand. The only difference is that my party is on Nov. 19. We are also cooking for 100+ people. The best thing I can suggest is to START DRINKING!!! Take some tylenol PM and have a glass of wine and you will sleep like a baby! If you don't drink then just take the tylenol. As for the nerves, well the alcohol will help. No need to be nervous though. Most of the time, the things we are most nervous about are the ones we CANNOT control. So don't sweat!

I had a breakdown the actual day of my party...it was awful, since then everyone calls me bridezilla..Do not let it get to you, no matter what you do, everyone will be so overcome with happiness for you and your fh, that they arent going to care, I promise.Just try to relax(I know easier said than done) and have a good time!

I was actually pretty relaxed for our engagement party- but remember it only happens once. Take a deep breath and enjoy it! It will turn out great!!!

I was also calm for my engagement party. It is once in a lifetime. I knew I was going to be there with family and closest friends. Yeah you get nervous because you want everything to go smoothly. Just relax and enjoy your day. You guys will have a blast.. believe me..

Re: Engagement Party

What do you guys suggest having it at a restaurant or having it at home and catering it.

Re: Engagement Party

it ends up being about the same $$$$-so if you want less stress I would do it at a venue-

we had a huge BBQ pool party and it was sooo much work-and it is not done until the last drunk guest leaves your house

Re: Engagement Party

I did it in a catering hall. I wanted everyone to enjoy and relax. Especially my mom. I wanted her to have a good time, and not be stuck in the kitchen.

Ok... I still haven't picked what day we are going to have ours on... I feel like I am so far behind all you girls!!!

I want an e party!!!!

I thought between Thanksgiving and Christmas it will be too tough for people to come b/c of company parties and stuff...

What do you think?

Don't stress about your party... Its suppose to be fun.. You shouldn't be nervous... Although anythign anyone says here won't calm your nerves.. hehehehe

Re: Engagement Party

we are having our party at a hall and there will be about 80 people. we are cooking for all of these people...my mom, me and FH's mom. Me and mom have started cooking and freezing everything, since party is 3 weeks away. Do not want to stress the week of-either of us- and I don't mean FH! lol

Re: Engagement Party

Mine is in 4 weeks and we decided to just do it in a restaurant as well. We invited 100 people and about 35 people still did not RSVP! The RSVP date is tomorrow. Should I start calling them tomorrow night?

Re: Engagement Party

I would call them just to see....let them know that you need a certain amount. Unless you want to wait until the end of the week-being that the party is 4 weeks away. Goodluck!
