got engaged in april had the eparty in june. it was very low key- we had it at FMIL's house. we had a BBQ- it was alot of fun! our guests are still talking about it!!

I think it is nicer to have it closer to your engagement because everyone is so excited for youa nd it is so new and fresh

I got engaged the end of April and we had our e-party sept 3rd(labor day weekend). It was perfect...almost 5 months after. We had a cocktail party in my backyard ![]()

E-Party is July 2007
Wedding Date is 10.11.08
The only reason we did not have it sooner is becasue we just closed on a new home and it is hectic with the holidays and our upcoming trip to Vegas.

I think taht I will be having my E party this march. I would love to have it in the summer but my brothers wedding is way to close.

We got engaged on NYE '06 but are waiting for the end of spring/beginning of summer to have our party.
We're going very casual--just friends, at a bar w/an outdoor area, open-bar-bracelet deal (that each guest will pay for him or herself).
We just want to have a good time and celebrate with everyone (especially since not all of our friends will be invited to the wedding) and are not expecting gifts.

we're not having one either..it's just too much $, planning, too many people. (and i dont want people to feel like they have to give gifts) I thought i would be the only one! we will at some point get together with just our immediate families (already did with our parents...but also with our brothers/sisters) just so the immediate families can get to know each other better) that would end up being 11 people including us. (not bad) then again at some point we will have a get together with the bridal party and their dates...thats it really. but it should be nice and simple

I got engaged Nov 17th and our engagement party is January 28th. You can do it within 6-8 months of your engagement especially if you would like to wait until the spring.

My Grandma and FMIL ar eplanning the engagement party for us, we are very lucky! We got engaged last June and the E-party probably won't be until late spring or summer. So it will be a year from when we were engaged and more than a year before the wedding.
