ENGAGEMENT PARTY

HI WE JUST GOT ENGAGED AND WE WANT TO HAVE AN ENGAGEMENT PARTY. WE DONT WANT SOMETHING BIG, JUST SOMETHING TO CELEBRATE AND FOR THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS COULD MEET ANYBODY HAVE ANY IDEAS????? PLZ I WOULD LOVE SOME IDEAS AND BE CREATIVE WERE NOT AFRAID OF BEING DIFFERENT

I had a BBQ Eparty...we had in a park (Lighthouse Park on Roosevelt Island) with a Yankee theme...lots of DIYs, we had it catered, games for the kids. It was alot of fun and didn't cost more than $2500 for 100 people.

We had a Sunday morning/afternoon brunch. It was about 50 people, at my dad's country club.

Congrats. We are having ours in FH's parents backyard with a luau theme.

Also, there was a recent thread a few days ago on places for engagement places. You can do a search. I'll try to find it and bump it for you.

First off congrats & welcome!!!!

I am having my E-Party @ the Irish Coffee Pub, we are inviting about 75 ppl. I originally hoped to have it in my FIL's backyard but since the weather has been so horrid the past few months we decided to move it indoors. I was planning on a casual evening w/an acoustic guitar player /singer lots of food & drinks. In my personal opinion those are the best parties!!!

we had ours in my sisters big backyard. it was a little more than 70 ppl (i've got a big family) but of course u can make it as big or small as u like. my mom cooked all of the food (she's italian and insane) but u can cater in food if u want. we went with the backyard party because we thought it fit our style more. we wanted ppl to relax, eat, chill out with a cold beer and have a good time, and i think that's what everyone did! i posted pics on the 2010 board 'pics from engagement party july 25'...i dont know how to put a link to the exact thread. hth!
