Engagement Party
Just wanted to rave about where I had my engagement party last Saturday. I had it at the Galaxie. I was a little nervous because I didn't see many things on here about them and the only thing I remembered about them was a couple people having there Sweet 16s there. However, I was going for a winter wonderland theme and they have a really beautiful room with a blue ceiling and mirrors it fit the theme perfectly plus the price is very reasonable that it fit the budget perfectly. The food was also surprisingly really good. One of my friends heard that the food was not good but after eating it she said she was very surprised with how good the food actually was. The manager, Larry, was wonderful. He really works so very hard and was always there asking if he could get something for us or refill our drinks. The maitre'd, Ann, worked extremely hard. She made my mom, my dad, my FH, and I a plate of food with all of the selections so we could try everything and not wait on line. She was extremely attentive to anything and everything we needed. I also highly recommend her if she is available.
We used High Voltage as the DJ. I actually found him on here and I thought he did a good job. To be honest, I wasn't very picky and I just wanted him to play music and get everyone dancing. (which he did). So I was very satisfied.
I used vista print for our invites and thank yous. They are so reasonable and I got matching labels for free. You can not get more for your money anywhere else.
My favors were cupcakes. My mom and I toke on a huge adventure and decided to make them ourselves. They came out amazing. Everyone said how great they tasted and they looked really really nice. My FH and dad made the butter cream icing and honestly spend about 4 hours making enough and getting the icing the perfect color. My mom, grandmother and best friend did a great job putting on all the little snowflakes. The larger snowflakes we made out of white chocolate and we painted on edible white glitter which my sister spent so much time fixing the edges and making them perfect. I have to say without them I am really not sure if this would have been able to be done.
