Re: Engagement Party
I think $100-$150 is a nice gift for FSIL. Or I would purchase something off their registry

Re: Engagement Party
For my engagement party we got at least $100 per couple - on the high end was $250-$300. For FSIL I'd probably give around there.

Re: Engagement Party
Ummmm I don't have $500 and FH is still out of work! She actually gave him $100 the other day so she knows our situation, but I still want to give her a decent amount. I know she isn't expecting much from us.

I can definitely do $250 as long as its an appropriate amount.

Re: Engagement Party
Yea I just wanted to see the average amount and since I've only been to one other e-party about 7 years ago for people who weren't family, I figured I'd ask.

I need you as a sister! I thought $150 for engagement was generous. I must have cheap friends and family. LOL!!!!

Re: Engagement Party
Sometimes I can't get over the responses on here.
NY is so much more 'go big or go home' than the midwest.
In Michigan its like... 'Okay here are some bedsheets. Happy engagement.'
