Engagement Party

How many people had an engagement party?

If you did: How long after you got engaged did you have the party and was it majority friends or family...

I'm wondering if we should have one, where and how much we should budget for a e-party..

We did! It was 6 months after the proposal (last August). and a year before the wedding. We invited about 100 I think and 84 (including children) came. Mostly family, the whole BP and a few close friends who aren't in the BP. It was a backyard BBQ - we hired caterers who make the usual BBQ stuff plus skirt steak, lamb, marinated chicken breasts, and brought a few different salads. It was sooooo good! And had a cake made by them too. We also rented a tent, table & chairs. And had our wedding DJ company come for 4 hours. It was perfect!!! Everyone had so much fun, and it ended up going on until about 1:30 in the AM! (started at 5pm)

Mine was majority family, but then again I have only a handful of friends.. We had mine 2 months after my engagement.

we had our in October, we were engaged in July, and we had it in a small catering hall, only one room. We had about 100 people all close friends and family....Dinner Dancing and Drinks!!!!

It was a blast!!!!!!!
