Engagement Party

My FI and I were engaged on January 1. I would really like to have an engagement party, but don't know when a good time woulf be. I'm a teacher and have Spring Break in April. The reason I'm looking at that time is because I'm also the musical director for the school musical which is in May, and that keeps me very busy during the week as well as on weekends. Having the party during a vacation would just allow me to enjoy it more. Is April an acceptable time to have the party? It would also allow me lose a few more pounds.

You can have the party whenever you want! I think thats a good time! I got engaged the end of may and had my party August.

Sounds Good. We're also doing the same thing - probably going for April. With engagement photos its usually 2-4 months after you're engaged so I would think that the time frame you're giving your self is acceptable.

I had ours 7 months after we got engaged. I think your in a fine time frame.

I got engaged in July and we had our engagement party in December which is 6 months..that April would be perfect!

It's up to you. Waiting till vacation time is fine.

We got engaged in October 2011 a we're having our engagement party in May 2012, which will be 7 months from the time we got engaged.

You'll definitely be fine to wait... if you wait until the Summer, your wedding will still be a whole year away!

We wound up having ours almost 2 months after we got engaged... but we wanted to have a backyard party, so that's why it was so soon.
