We are having about 100 people at our engagement party in June. We have a DJ and photographer as well. I was wondering if anyone did anything special for their engagement party. Should my fiance and I do a speech to thank everyone for coming? A special dance? I think I am over thinking this but I'd love to hear some creative ways you spruced up your parties.

My fiance and parents made a speech -- We didn't do a dance or anything but we also didn't do a DJ.

Ours was a little smaller, we had about 50 people, no DJ, a friend took pics. We didn't make a speech, but my father did and it was really lovely. I stressed about my E-party because I was worried about it being boring, but it was actually a hit. Everyone is there to celebrate with you, so it will be a ton of fun no matter what!

FH and I had both of our mom's do a speech and then we thanked everyone for coming.

we are having about 50 people in at our house... backyard party. We all just like to relax and hang out and play yard games.
I wouldnt try and make it so formal, you dont want a mini wedding. Keep it simple and everyone will enjoy. yo dont ahve to plan everything out, sometimes it just flows nicely.

We didn't have any speeches, just laid back, but my girlfriends did go to the DJ and tell him to have us have a dance in front of everyone..lol nothing like a good ol first dance practice surprise lol
And the best part was that I had taken my heels off and put flats on, so we had to dance like that and I'm 5'3 and my FH is 6'4 lol
But you def don't have to do any dances or speeches, totally up to you.

We did a DJ and a photo booth. We didn't spend anything on either though. We did a thank you speech but that was it. We had him play a certain song for a slow dance but everyone danced.
