Engagement Party

Sooo our moms are hosting an engagement party for us in September. We got engaged in December and we are getting married May 2015... I know you're supposed to announce your bridal party at the e-party BUT I don't know what is going to change by then and I don't really want to make that announcement until a little less then a year before the wedding. There is one girl that I have been friends with since we were 12 and we used to be really close but recently, I don't talk to her much and she has changed a lot. I am her daughter's godmother but our relationship is just almost non-existent.

So my question is, is it weird if I don't ask my bridal party at the e-party? I would hate to ask them and they say yes and then either kick them out of have them not want to do it anymore...

What are your thoughts?

we asked before and did some pix with them.

some people (other sites) wait until like 6 months before!

I think you should ask your girls to be your bridesmaids when you are ready to ask. You shouldn't have to feel pressured because of an engagement party. Enjoy yourselves at your party and make your decision when you're ready!

I never heard that's when you were supposed to announce your bridal party. You can do it whenever you want.

Apparently my friends do it weird lol... It's good to know that it isn't 'proper etiquette' to ask at the e-party thanks ladies!
