Engagement Party at Catering Hall

If you went to an engagement party at a hall, would you give a gift from the registry or money?

Probably money. Personally I think gifts are for the shower, but I know there are MANY people who would disagree.

Personally I wouldn't determine my gift based on where the engagement party was. Doesn't matter to me if it is at a catering hall, resteraunt, or someones home. Most engagement parties I have gone to, couples received quite a few gifts. The one thing I would NOT do is put where you are registered on the invite to the engagment party.

we are hoping for $$ at our e-party, that is why we are not registering for it.

We got a lot of gifts at our engagement party - definitely more gifts than money.
Honestly - I would register because a few people got us gifts that weren't on the registry so we then had duplicates. Some people will probably give you a gift - so it might as well be something you like - you could always return it for the $$ if you really want to.
